The Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society held its 52nd Annual General Meeting on November 21, 2024, during which the activities of 2023, future objectives, and the organization's ongoing efforts to support individuals with cancer experiences and their families were presented.
The Executive Director of the Society, Ms. Maria Ioannidou, emphasized:
"Our priority is to ensure that every citizen with cancer experience has access to the best possible treatments and care services. Achieving this goal requires collaboration from all sectors – the government, the scientific community, patient associations, and society as a whole. With commitment, empathy, and continuous effort, we can make a difference, building a system that meets everyone's needs with dignity and respect."
She highlighted the key achievements of 2023, focusing on the expansion of services and the provision of 24-hour home nursing care across all districts. She noted the strengthening of palliative care services, the implementation of new awareness campaigns such as the "Listen to Your Body" program, and the integration of the Society's palliative care services into the General Healthcare System (GHS), with the inclusion of outpatient services in 2023.
