Homecare Service
Ιntegrated people-centered and accessible nursing care in the patients’ familiar environment.
The Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, considering the beneficial effects of the patients’ stay in their own home environment, offers the Nursing Homecare Service.
The service is provided following the instructions of the patient’s treating physician, who refers the patient to the Society, in collaboration with the patient or the patient’s family.
The Service is available free of charge in all cities and villages of Cyprus by specially trained nursing professionals and includes:
- Evaluation of the needs of both the patients and the caregivers and preparation of a tailor-made nursing care program.
- Evaluation of the patient’s room and borrowing of medical equipment which will assist in the patient’s care at home (e.g. oxygen delivery systems, wheelchairs, special medical beds, bath aids, etc.).
- Nursing services (blood samples collection, injections, ostomy care, etc.).
- Education and support of the patient’s family members so they can take care of the patient.
- Working with the multidisciplinary team of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society for the provision of integrated homecare services.
- Borrowing of auxiliary medical equipment for home use.
24-hour homecare services
The Service is available on a 24-hour basis in the Nicosia and Limassol districts by specially trained (On Call) personnel in case of emergencies. The Service is available in cases where the patient needs help or in the afternoons, at night, during the weekends and on holidays.
