“Arodaphnousa” Palliative Care Centre
Our aim is to ensure every cancer patient in the Centre spends each day with comfort and dignity
“Arodaphnousa” is the first and the only centre of its kind in Cyprus that offers comprehensive palliative care services to cancer patients. The Centre accommodates inpatients who need specialized care, while services are provided to outpatients as well.
At “Arodaphnousa”, patients are treated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of health professionals specializing in Palliative Care.
Our aim is to ensure that every cancer patient in the Centre spends each day with comfort and dignity.
All services are offered free of charge.
Services provided to inpatients:
- Management of pain and other symptoms
- Supportive treatment (transfusions, hydrations, etc.)
- Psychological support of patients and their families
- Social support, exploring ways for financial and other support
- Spiritual support
- Physiotherapy
- Aromatherapy
- Hosting and offering palliative care to patients during treatment in oncology centres
- Offering short-term accommodation and palliative care to patients allowing their families a short break from their caregiving duties
- Hospice care of patients during the final stages of the illness
Services provided to outpatients:
- Pain Management Clinic
- Visits to the Centre’s physicians
- Physiotherapy
- Lemphoedema treatments
- Aromatherapy
- Psychological, social and spiritual support
The Centre accepts patients regardless of their religious beliefs, with due respect and appreciation towards the beliefs of each person individually.
