The “2nd Sirens Call: Swimming for Arodafnousa”, a unique charity swimming event organised by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, in collaboration with the “Sirens” team and the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia, was successfully completed.

More than 120 women joined forces and swam in the crystal-clear waters of Armyropigado (Proskopon) Beach in Protaras, sending a powerful message of solidarity, hope and social contribution to all those experiencing cancer.

This year’s event exceeded all expectations, raising more than €20,000, which will be allocated to support the free services provided by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society to people living with cancer and their families throughout Cyprus.

Ms Marlen Demetriou, Vice-President of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, stated:
“Today, we are not only celebrating the success of an event. We are celebrating the power of collective giving. The 120 Sirens who entered the sea and swam for Arodafnousa proved that an act of love can be transformed into meaningful support for hundreds of people who rely on the services of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.”

For his part, Mr George Nikolettos, Mayor of Paralimni – Deryneia, noted:
“The ‘Sirens Call’ has now become an established event that highlights the values of volunteerism, solidarity and social awareness. It is a great honour for our Municipality to host an event that brings together so many people for such an important cause. I warmly congratulate the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, the Sirens, the volunteers and everyone who contributed to the outstanding success of the event.”

The Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society extends its warmest thanks to the Sirens, the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia, the volunteers and everyone who supported the event through their presence and contribution.
