"Evagorion" Palliative Care Centre
We offer day care to patients in need of specialised palliative care
“Evagorion” Palliative Care Centre offers day care to patients who need specialized and comprehensive palliative care due to their illness or during their treatment in oncology centres. It operates in Limassol since 2011.
At “Evagorion”, patients are treated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of a physician specialising in Palliative Care, nursing staff, physiotherapists, a psychologist and a social worker. The Centre also provides psychosocial support to patients’ families.
It is currently equipped with 6 beds for day care and operates a physiotherapy room, as well as counselling rooms for psychological and social support and other supportive facilities.
“Evagorion” also houses the Homecare Palliative Care Service that meets the patients’ needs in the Limassol district.
“Evagorion” provides:
- Day Care (transfusions, hydrations, saline treatments, blood sampling, wound care, etc.)
- Pain management
- Medicine administration
- Physiotherapy, lymphoedema treatment, etc.
- Psychological support
- Social support, exploring ways for financial and other support
- Daily transport to and from oncology centres in Nicosia
Borrowing of medical equipment is also available at the Centre.
Cancer patients are referred to “Evagorion” by their treating physician or by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society on request.
The Centre provides its services to all patients under the supervision and oversight of the Centre’s physician and qualified nursing staff.
